I am a fixer

“I am going to be a sophomore in high school. Last year was my first year in the South. My mom is from Mobile and we visited every year. I have a complex family tree and am an only child with different groups of stepbrothers and stepsisters. I have lived in 13 houses so far. I try to guess where am I going to be next year and I am always wrong, but I love change. A year ago I had no idea I would be here. I am glad we moved, but it is a bit snobby at school and I haven’t found my place yet. I am a bit of a loner anyway. My dad was very strict and my mom was a free range kid. I am in the middle. I like visiting my grandmother here but I talk fast and she talks slow and sometimes we have a hard time understanding each other

I am a fixer. I like to fix people and keep them from doing dumb stuff to themselves and get their head on straight. A big thing where I was before was kids cutting themselves and I have gotten people to quit that. Emotions and anxiety build up and they have to let it out somehow. I tried to show them better ways.

I am a computer nerd and love cars.I build computers from scratch and parts. Computers click together and I was 12 when I put my first computer together. I sold them and made a small profit. I am shopping for my first car. I saved up money selling computers, mowing lawns and odd stuff.

I am 15, I don’t know my purpose yet. I could be an auto mechanic or a CEO. There was a kid in my class who could balance a chair on his chin. He got all of the attention and stole the show. That made it easy for me to not be seen.”

What a wonderful way to start my day by reading our Southern Soul. This article was in the light and shows how despite all of the challenges in this person’s life, they continue to dream and Hope and Purser beer. So inspiring!
