I am homeless and pregnant

“I am homeless and pregnant. I moved in with my mum for a fresh start but that didn’t go so well. I moved out of her place and have been sofa surfing for a while. This is my first time to be homeless. You meet crazy people on the streets. I wouldn’t advise anyone to live like this. I am exhausted. Last night the security guard let me sleep on the sofa at the college.  I have about a week or two to go before I get into housing and start getting my life back together. This is my first child and getting pregnant was not the plan. I am terrified and trying to get by day by day. I don’t know what it will be like.  I used to be a hairdresser and want to go back to that. I won’t be in this position forever. I am 26 and I have my whole life ahead of me. I can’t do this to my child. I am a lone child. My mum had 13 miscarriages before she had me. I was her nightmare child. The tattoo on my arm is supposed to say ‘What don’t break you makes you stronger’, but I got scared of them going over my veins so we stopped at the ‘s’ in stronger. I look at this tattoo and know I can make it through anything, even if it is a little bit messed up.”
