I am scared of the presidential election

“What Scares You?”

“Splinters.”
“Bill Gates. He is so creepy.”
“The dark.”
“Throw up.”
“Public speaking.”
“Trains.”
“Anything that crawls.”
“The future. I am uncertain of what we will do and we don’t know what is going to happen in our world. What will it be like when we grow up.”
“I am outgoing with my friends, but I have a hard time talking to strangers. This week has been hard for me.”
“I am scared of the presidential election.”
“Me too.”
“I am scared of going to high school and new teachers. In the next four years we will have to decide what we are doing for the rest of our lives.”
“I want to go back to kindergarden and have nap time again.”

I have teenage boys. Teenage girls are my phobia. Especially the ages 12-14 because I hated being that age. This week I am on a mission trip with middle schoolers and staying with the girls. Doing Souls interviews with them each night and asking them one question is my way to get to know them and over my phobia and try to understand them.
