I have to have the bus. I am living on disability and just trying to pay my rent

“I live in Semmes and take the bus. I used to ride it to Chickasaw because I had a job there. I have to have the bus. I used to have a vehicle, but it was repossessed because I got behind on my notes. They charged 20 percent interest. That is way too much but I needed that car. I am living on disability and I am just trying to pay my rent, but I am late on my rent every month. Thank God we have the WAVE. We would all be in a mess without it. I was at the driver’s license place yesterday and just missed the bus, so I had to stand out there for 40 minutes. I have bad legs and it liked to killed me. They need to have benches and shelter out there for people who need to sit down. If it is cold or storming, you get into a tight, because if you take cover somewhere and miss the bus, then you have to wait another hour. So I stand out there and wait in it. Without WAVE there would be more crime from people not being able to work and a way to provide for their family. Everything has good and bad in it. That is just life.”
