I like to go fast

“I like to go fast and to get directions. I practice once a week. I think about it all of the time. My dad used to race sprint cars. I draw the track on the driveway and race hot wheels on them. I do gymnastics, too. My first race is next Saturday and I turn seven. I am more excited about the race. My little sister wears my gloves all of the time.”

“Olivia was a premie when she was born she weighed 2.3 pounds. She was a premie born at 28 weeks. She has been fighting ever since. I blame the energy on the pure oxygen they had to give her

“I started races when I was four and a half and traveled all over the country doing it. Now I get to teach my daughter.”

“I always wanted to race. My kids got to do the things I wanted to do as a kid. When I was in the Navy, my wife took a job in Huntsville. For three months I was in Charleston by myself and met up with friends and we ran a drag car. We did a lot of traveling and went to a lot of tracks and I realized anyone could do it. Off we went. We moved to a bigger class to stock cars and wing sprint cars. We blew up our motor a while back and working on getting it back in. It is exciting watching my granddaughter get into it.”

“We raced the southeastern circuit with the point races and won the championship one year. The trophy was so big we had to take it apart to get it in the car. Olivia has the same instincts and reactions her dad did. Racing was something fun to do and became an addiction we did together as a family. We made friends with people all over and we took care of each other.”

“I still get a rock in my stomach when I see any of them race.”
