“I was born in 1932, and was a Baptist preacher for 48 years. I preach hard, straightforward sermons. I don’t beat around the bush. One of the sermons I remember was “Five Ways to Go to Hell.” A lot of people were saved by that message because it opened their eyes that they weren’t right. A 77-year old man was saved by that sermon because a statement I made grabbed his attention– back when you did what you did, why did you do it?
I have preached in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Mississippi, and the Middle Phillippines. Sometimes I preached three sermons on one verse of scripture, like Joshua 1:9. I preach the difference between head belief and heart belief.
Physically, I can’t handle pastorate duties. I had a bad accident five years ago and had a lot of head trauma, a leg broken in two places, and a broken wrist. I was in ICU for thirty days and no one thought I was going to live.
The accident happened when I was riding a four-wheeler. The throttle went wide open and I ran into an oak tree. But it was God whipping me. He corrects all of his children and I was out of the will of God. I knew that and he got my attention. God calls it chastisement, and I am still paying for it. I still walk with a cane.
Since that time I have preached a lot and had folks saved. My ministry is now witnessing, teaching, and helping people.
Serving the Lord is the only way to go. Any other way is a waste of time.”
