“I am a divorce lawyer among other things. I have a 6-pack captain’s license and used to run fishing charters in the Gulf. I am a spear fisherman and I started to play the five-string banjo when I was 14. I am a frustrated local musician and a cook. I have a creative streak. I seen an ingredient and get an inspiration and a lot of what I cook comes out of my garden. I like everything fresh. In spearfishing, we shoot the spear and string the fish, but the blood brings out the sharks. We see sharks all of the time. There has to be a screw loose somewhere. The day I started 6th grade, my mom died of cancer. My dad was a workaholic. I went to boarding school in 8th grade, when I was 16 I went to boarding school and had my own apartment in the Oakleigh District around the street from Callaghan’s. I was 16 with no adult supervision and playing in a band and hanging out in bars. I am ready to play banjo in a band again. When I was a young man, I was a pack-a-day smoker, emphysemic, and weighed 135 pounds with a pot belly. I wanted to be someone else and started doing the things the person I wanted to be would do. It worked. There is a lot of great things to do in life and I want to do them.”
