“I was a baseball scout for 43 years and I got to do something I loved for that long. I also taught and coached during that time. I scouted Bo Jackson, Frank Thomas, Will Clark, Rafael Palmeiro, Barry Bonds, and Mark McGuire. I worked for the Arizona Diamondbacks for 14 years. In 2001, we beat the damn Yankees in the World Series and I got a ring–‘Never Forget’ is inscribed on the inside after 9/11. I scouted for the same man for 35 years and where he went, I went.
