I will do anything for my family

“I got a special immigrant visa to come to the United States from Turkey. I worked as a supervisor for 20 years at the embassy.  We moved to the United States on April 10, 2009. My son and daughter were born late in life after several miscarriages. My 13-year-old daughter controls me more than anyone else in this world. I wanted my kids to have a better life. I want them to have a future.”

“That is always in the back of my mind. My grades and what I do are always on top because I know what my parents did for me. It is not something I can take for granted. I like writing stories and playing tennis. I will try anything that is out there. I love to play with my dogs. This one is a pure-bread, long-haired German Shepherd. I have been to Turkey twice. My dad hasn’t been back since we left because he works all of the time. I want to be a nurse anesthetist. In our old neighborhood, we were surrounded by lovely people like Dr. John, Sonny Cortes, and Mrs. Cassie who helped my brother and I grow up and do a lot of things. They were grandparents and helped take care of us and drove us to places we needed to go.”
“There are so many beautiful people in this world. I work seven days a week, 18 hours a day. I will do anything for my family. We moved to Florida because we had family there. I couldn’t find a job. Then I found one at a dog kennel in Robertsdale. I worked there for six years, six months before I became a taxi driver. Now I work for a company as a handyman. If you are a hard, honest worker, you can adapt fast.”
