“I wanted to go to a school in the SEC. I am from Florida and preferred UF but they didn’t prefer me. I didn’t know where else I wanted to go so I toured other schools and fell in love with Mississippi State the minute I walked on campus. I felt like home even if it is eleven hours from home. It is warm at heart and still out in the country and I have always wanted to live in the country. I know one person and my roommate who I met at orientation. It is scary, but I like talking to random people, so I am going to be okay. I am going to major in biological sciences with a pre-med track. I enjoy helping people and took an athletic training course in high school and fell in love with the adrenaline of it.
My entire seventh grade year I lived in Bulgaria and traveled around Europe. It was a pivotal time in my life because I had just lost my dad in the Haiti earthquake. He was a civil engineer and was there working on a roadway project. My mom needed a change in jobs since he was our main provider, She had always wanted to do mission work, so we went to Bulgaria. Now I do mission trips, I have been to Honduras and done some local work. This week we are working in Mobile and doing outreach with kids and construction projects.”
