If you believe in something, don’t ignore it

“I am frustrated. I am tired of seeing people being taken advantage of and isolated. I felt a calling in my spirit to start Women Against Roy Moore and give women a platform to have their voices heard. I wanted to create the opportunity for other people to speak out and to have an outlet. Roy Moore doesn’t represent Alabamians and the nation is watching us and I hope we can finally join in. It is time to move past our history and move forward. It makes my soul ache to see women oppressed. I was sexually abused and when I spoke out no one believed me. If there is truth to even one of the accusations, we are destroying another human being. I was destroyed for years. I suffered from alcoholism. I was alone and scared. I felt called to start this movement so maybe someone else could heal. We need to hold our politicians to higher standards. They shouldn’t get away with crimes. What message does this send people? Our African American community doesn’t vote because they are oppressed and they are the majority in this state. If we all step up and come together, we can show the nation we are ready to move forward. We will no longer participate in division. Alabama has a lot of potential. Mobile has a lot of potential. I spent the last $5 in my checking account making the Women Against Roy Moore page because I had to do it. I will be involved in more political movements in Alabama. If you believe in something and you feel something, don’t ignore it.”
