In Iowa, I was a hideout person. I am trying to open up here

“I moved here from Iowa in December. I had health issues and the sunshine has increased my dopamine levels. I have been getting my feet on the ground and the sun on my skin. I get called ma’am all of the time. People are happy and pleasant. It has to be the sun. I came down and rented a place sight unseen. I didn’t know anyone here, but I left a great career as a lab chemist with great salary andbenefits. However, it was stressful with a lot of critical thinking. I could have worked there for another 10 years and they could wheel me out, or I could find a better environment and enjoy myself. I have a part-time job here working with the elderly. It is eye-opening that some people can’t take care of themselves. I want to have an impact before that stage. I am going where life leads me. The first time I went to the bay, I sat at the end of the pier with my feet on a footstool. Someone said, “That looks interesting” and I said, “I should be walking like you.” The next night I put the stool away and started walking. It has made a big difference. In Iowa, I was a hideout person. I am trying to open up here.”
