It took six months to get up the nerve to talk to her.

“I am going to college for international studies and finish this semester. I want to be a missionary and will go wherever God sends me. I love traveling and volunteering and helping people.”

“I am in the military and will be stationed in Hawaii for four years. I am home on leave.”

“We have been together for four months but have known each other for three years. It started as friends and turned into best friends and then we weren’t dating anyone, why not each other.”

“So far so good. When I am gone it is not as bad as it could be. We talk a lot and she is so easy to talk to. We just pick up where we left off. The last time I was home I had been gone for 16 months.”

“We are so comfortable and easy around each other. It helped we were close friends first. I liked him for a long time before.”

“I liked her from the moment I saw her but it took six months to get up the nerve to talk to her.”

“Then we were on the swim team and track team and had classes together and were around each other more.”

“I saw her six days a week and we started getting close.”

“My best friend finally said y’all need to get together.”

“I was such good friends with her and I didn’t want to risk it if there was a small chance she didn’t feel the same way.”

“What is that on your fingernails?”

“Nail polish. My stepmother painted them and my toenails. I was on the couch reading and she said she was going to paint them so I let her do it. I have a younger sister and I was her practice makeup dummy because we are both violently pail and our skin tones matched. If she messed up on her brother it was okay, if she messed up on her, she got discouraged. I will lend you my skin, make me beautiful. It didn’t work.”
