My ancestors came here with Bienville and d’Iberville

“My ancestors came with Bienville and D’Ibervile and settled on Dauphin Island. They stayed there until the English took over. Mobile was the capital of Louisiana at that time. My ancestors moved to Opelousas, Louisiana and stayed. We have been here since the white men first got here. Everyone is kin to everyone. For better or worse. Photography is what makes me happy. I come out here four days a week. I got my first camera in the third grade. It was a little Browning camera. I got my first real camera in college. I love the nature here and there are so many places to take pictures. Last week I shot photos of a murder of crows chasing an eagle. I also shoot music and sports pictures. Flooding is getting worse because of climate change and development. There are fewer places for the water to go and the wetlands are being developed and going away. I wish more people could see the beauty of nature like this.”
