My goal is to become an American citizen. Your country still stands for so much

“No one sees an end goal to Brexit. We are going into the void and don’t know what to do. The administration changes over and over and it is madness. It is a big political move that will affect all of us. Are we going to crash out in two weeks with no trade deal or no plan for the Irish border? It is also a class issue with racism. Some are say immigrants are taking jobs and putting strain on the NHS and police. They say the immigrants are freeloaders, which is not the case. They contribute to the British economy as much as we do. On the other hand, sovereignty is a good reason to leave. A foreign power you didn’t vote for has the power to tell you what to do. There are genuine points that should be debated. But there is no middle ground, it is either leave or stay. The country is the most divided that it has ever been.

London is one of the most culturally diverse cities anywhere with genuinely good people. It has also become more dangerous during my life. We have become more Americanized in our violence. We used to just fistfight. Now if there is an argument, someone could pull a gun on you. Guns and knives are how people end debates. There was one close to my house this week. It becomes my pride has been hit. I will catch you slipping while you go to work and kill you. It is about fear and a man getting one up on you and that worries me.

My goal is to live in America and to become an American citizen. I want to be an actor like Michael Caine and Denzel Washington. I have acted since I was a child. My parents wish I would become a doctor, lawyer or something more stable.

I love your country. It stands for so much. Many other countries still aspire to be America because of democracy and freedom of speech. Your constitution and what you stand for as a nation. You represent all that is good in the world, maybe not right now with your politics, but your people and what they support. The First and Second World Wars, the Civil Rights movement, the marches for freedom. You are still a great country where many of us want to live.”
