One day I am going to be a mermaid in the snow

“I sling beverages at Bier Garten. This is a day off and I am texting my friends to see what they want to do. Mortal Combat just dropped and I invited them over to play. I love living in downtown Mobile. Everyone should do it. I was in a wreck three years ago and broke my collar bone. Recovery from that and adjusting to what I can do at work has been hard. I have a metal plate and can’t lift heavy things like I used to. I have to ask other people to carry a case of beer or do things for me. I don’t like being that person. Or people ask about the scar. It is hard being vulnerable. People take great care of me and are so helpful, it is just hard coming to terms with asking for help.

I have always lived in the South close to the water. I want to move to the snow and mountains and try something new. I homeschooling my son and will move after he graduates. Bullying is tough out there and social media makes it so much worse and affects kids differently now.  I didn’t want him to go through that anymore and I stay on top of his social media.
The red hair is my inner mermaid coming out. I eventually want to go back to blue. That feels more like a mermaid to me. I am a mermaid trapped on land. One day I am going to be a mermaid in the snow.”
