Riding a motorcycle is like meditation

“I am a member of a Harley group and we ride every week. Today we did 110 miles of backroads to the Original Oyster House. Riding a motorcycle is like meditation. It takes you away and makes you focus on what is in front of you. You have to be patient and you can’t let your emotions take over because you know people are going to do crazy things and you have to react to that. You aren’t going to win against a car. My brother and I rode to Sturgis, then the Grand Canyon, Colorado and Arkansas. We had to wash clothes every three days because you can’t pack much on a motorcycle.

I bought my first bike out of high school. My mom said no bikes as long as I lived there, so I moved out and got a bike and I have been riding since ’72. My wife passed away three-and-a-half years ago and I live by myself. I am ready to ride any time someone says “Let’s go.”

That is sweet. You still have passion for the things you love and for adventure. Keep on Smiling like that and life will keep smiling back at you.
