“I am graduating from Spanish Fort High School on Tuesday. Losing the rest of my senior year was a shock. At first we were glad to miss a few weeks of school. Then it got real serious real fast. We were one of the lucky ones to have a prom. We are also having a graduation but we can only invite four people. I feel bad for my friends who had virtual graduations. This is a big milestone and you want to celebrate it. It was a hard year because I lost a family member who I was caring for.
This summer is to spend time with my friends before we go our separate ways, I am going to Alabama to major in business. I want to be an entrepreneur and start my own business or become a human resource manager. One day I hope to take over my family’s clothing company in Sri Lanka. Much of my family still lives there and we go back every other year. Sri Lanka is underrated. It is beautiful and natural, but tourists don’t go there.”
