“We are from Birmingham. We decided at 5 a.m. this morning to come down here. We were going to Gulf Shores, but Fairhope is the only place we could get a hotel room. This is our first time to stay here. I work for a rheumatologist, but I am retiring in January so I can do more of this.”
“I sell real estate. Do you want to buy a house?”
“We met on Match.com. I had been married for 28 years in my first marriage. It was hard to meet people and date again at 50. I was too peppy and couldn’t get a date or I didn’t like the ones I went out with.”
“I was nicknamed ‘cowboy’ because I made it past 8 seconds with her and she went out with me again. We were cautious at first but it developed into lightning.”
“It is fun in this stage to have a relationship without raising kids. We got married two years ago after I quit breaking up with him. We had been living together and realized we weren’t setting a great example. We will have 15 grandkids together in November.”
“We started doing triathlons together several years ago and it became every weekend. During the week we were biking, swimming and running every night.”
“It was fun, but it took up so much of our time. We ended 58 doing a half iron man we ran for 13.5 mikes, swam for 1.5 miles and biked for 56 miles. Then we started remodeling the house and my son was diagnosed with cancer. He is well and the house is done.”
“Now we can leave the house early in the morning and sit on Mobile Bay and read a book a few hours later.”
