“I started riding horses when I was 7. I have a chestnut mare named Walker. I also have a resell project named Benny that I still have over two years later. My dad said he knew that would happen. I got my dog, Basil, from the flea market in Mobile. I put her back in the box because I knew my mom would kill me if I got a dog, but she climbed out of the box and ran to me and I had to have her. I take riding lessons from a coach and compete. I teach riding lessons too. Walker is my once-in-a-lifetime horse. When we jump over a fence, it is the most incredible feeling. Jumping is her thing and I trust that she is going to make the jump if I don’t make her make the wrong decision. My coach tells me to ‘hang on and kick.'”
“I work in a dental office. Animals are a passion for me. I don’t want to be a vet because I don’t want to turn something I love into a job. I would rather work with people and enjoy my animals. I changed my major several times. I thought I wanted to be a nurse, but I don’t like throw up or sick people. I also thought I wanted to be in elementary education, but I don’t like kids. My mom tells me that will change when it is time to have them.”
