Being a peacemaker with music is where I belong

April 16, 2019
“I bought this guitar a week ago. I have played an older guitar at open mic nights and wanted to step it up. I played trumpet in middle school and once sold all of my stuff and bought a keyboard at a yard sale. It was worth every penny.  I played around as part of the band Planet Joe and went to the Bay Area songwriter’s night and they encouraged me to keep playing. I have 12 originals I am ready to records and hundreds not ready to record.
Going from being a kid to a grown person is a hard thing. People can tell you life’s lessons 100 times, but learning them is not as easy as adults make it seem. The world is hard to adapt to and you have to do it yourself. Growing up, people always told me I couldn’t play music, I had to have a day job. That may be true, but the can’t play music part was not true. I gave up and stopped playing guitar for eight months. I couldn’t stay away, but when I picked it up I couldn’t play like I used to. I thought I would never get it back. Playing guitar was my dream and I never want to let it go. I have a purpose on this earth. Being a peacemaker with music is where I belong.”
