“Her eyes pop out and her cheekbones are higher and she looks younger. It is amazing what a new haircut will do.”
“My hair was long before she cut it. My cat won’t know me.”
“I have been coming to this senior center for two years to cut hair. I worked at a salon and one of my clients asked me to do this, so I started coming once a month. I cut hair for about three hours, sometimes 13 to 14 haircuts, and just take tips if they want to give one. I live across the street from this center but have thought of going to others. I also go to a couple of subsidized housing complexes for seniors. They can’t get out of their apartments, so I go to them. My tattoo is a mirror that says, Everything has beauty, but not everyone can see it.’ I cut hair bring out the beauty in people. Cutting hair is what my mother wanted me to do and I got into it 35 years ago. She and my dad live in Pennsylvania but I am moving them to Mobile soon because they can’t take care of themselves anymore. I couldn’t take care of my parents so far away, so I took care of others like I was caring for them.”
