She doesn’t want to admit it, but I get everything from my mom. She practically raised us by herself

“We took our mother shopping and to dinner for Mother’s Day. Our mom is from Cuba.”

“Mom is just like me. She doesn’t want to admit it, but I get everything from her, my attitude, the way I talk. She is a strong woman who has been through a lot and she doesn’t give up on us. She raised us practically by herself and she has been a mom and a dad to me. She taught me to speak up for myself.”

“She taught me how to speak Spanish.”

“I am taking them back to Cuba in December. My girls are the most beautiful gift from God.”

“She says she is just like you.”

“What? She is nothing like me.”

“I told you, my mom doesn’t want to admit it.”

“I asked God for that girl. Her father and I had almost gotten divorced and then we got back together. I came from Cuba with him in a raft in the 1994. He was a musician and came here traveling and said we have to go. He made the raft and we left. We were in the raft for 21 hours and the Coast Guard picked us up. We went to Guantanamo Bay for a year for immigration processing. It was a nightmare. We were married for almost 13 years. We got divorced and back together and I asked God for a child. It didn’t fix the marriage, but she was my gift.”
