“I have worked at Dollar Tree for eight months. My mom wanted me to get a job and go back into the world after the COVID lockdown. I was nervous on my first day, but the more I did it, the more comfortable I felt. I am a cashier, but I also clean the bathrooms and do some stocking. The customers are nice to me, and I try to help them have a good day. I want to bless others by being kind to them. I learned I can do more than I realize – that gives me confidence.
I have a twin sister. We are 20 years old, but she is older by ten minutes. We graduated from Fairhope High School. She went to college at the University of Alabama, but I stayed home to take things slow my first year. I am attending Coastal Alabama Community College and majoring in general studies. History is my favorite subject.
I also have a younger brother, and I help get him ready for school each morning. We like to play Legos together. When I was eight years old, my grandmother took me to Walmart and bought me a small Star Wars set. Now I am working on The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell – it’s a place in The Lord of the Rings. The set has 6,000 pieces, and I am on pack 36 of 48. My completed sets are all over my room and around my house.
I also like to run. I ran cross country in high school. I will run the Pensacola half marathon with my mom in October. We are about to start training together.
I hope God shows me what I should do with my life. My parents are kind and understanding and tell me there is no rush to figure it out. Just be nice to others and do what I like to do.”
