“I have lived in the Delta all of my life and I like it. It was weird growing up here because there weren’t a lot of people like me. You have to live here by choice and embrace it and overcome the problems. It doesn’t have to control you. I used to be an art teacher so I learned how to experiment and use all mediums. I enjoy the simplicity of life here and work from photos of the Delta. There is so much creativity to tap into and a lot of people come here trying to tap into it. We need an arts community, but it has to be genuine. I am not making a killing doing this, but it is what I would do regardless. I just don’t want to fall flat on my face.”
Good enough isn’t an option. It’s got to be the best I can do.
