“I live in the Joe Cain house. I bought it in 2000 because it was Joe Cain’s house and I knew a celebration came along with it. I love to see family and friends having a joyous time in the house. We get to watch the Joe Cain’s widows from the back and it is like being backstage at a Broadway show. Every year it happens. You come to this house and you are a part of Mardi Gras in Mobile. I vacuum a lot the week before and put out red beans and rice and gumbo. I love the story of Joe Cain. There is no membership to be a part of this day. It is just the people and it is so human.”
