“I have been coloring my hair teal, purple, blue, and a little pink for a year and a half. My husband helps me color it. A friend’s daughter had hair similar to this and said I could have it, too. Boom. Done. The hair makes me more approachable and people now think I am a nicer person than perhaps I am. It makes them and me happy. I let some silver show because I earned it. My husband once told me gray hair was like kissing his grandmother, and he lives. Superficial things matter. I once drove a VW Bug and people associated fun with me because of the car I drove. Women my age get ignored. That shouldn’t happen because we have so much to offer. I haven’t been ignored because I have taken steps to fight it. I want people to see me and know I am here.”
Good enough isn’t an option. It’s got to be the best I can do.
