Being without her doesn’t get any easier

May 26, 2020

“I bring fresh flowers every two weeks. I promised my wife I would never put artificial flowers on her grave. She was a business lady and I was a contractor building houses.  We were both traveling in motor homes and met on the road in Idaho.  We were married for 15 years and dedicated our lives to each other. We traveled to South America, England, and Scotland. It was a good life. We were swimming in the pool and she had a stroke. She lived for nine days.

I was in the Seabees and did construction for the Navy. I was stationed in Newfoundland, Bermuda, and Guantanamo, Cuba. I have been retired for about 30 years. A lot of people go through life and marriage and never discover their soul mate. I am trying to adapt to being single, but Peggy was my soul mate. Being without her doesn’t get any easier. “

I am so sorry for your loss. I married my soul mate at the age of 60. We are 84 now and know we probably don’t have a lot of time left together. It will be very hard for the one left behind. I know you are glad for the time you had together. Try to realize Peggy would want you to be as happy as possible.
