I served two tours in the Navy at Vietnam. I have my discharge papers with me. I was living in Phoenix and they sold the apartments I lived in. They told me if I didn’t like the new rules I could leave, so I left and have been living on the streets in New Orleans for three years. I live under the bridge with the drug addicts and alcoholics. I have mental problems and give over to people to easy. I draw a VA check and social security but I am an alcoholic and get drunk and people take my money. I just got out of detox this week and plan on not drinking any more. I want to go to North Alabama because I have relatives there. I started drinking when I was 8. My daddy sold whiskey and his brother-in-law and daddy made whiskey. It was all in the family. I have been 17 months without alcohol before and I have been 13 days now without a drink. I want to get back on my feet.
