“I build models on 3D printers and use animation to show how an accident happened. I created a model of a cab of a truck that came off and killed the driver. The model was used in court to show what happened. This is an animation of a preacher not paying attention and pulling out in front of a truck. He died. I have done this for 25 years and recreate terrible tings that happen. A lot of people have died in these cases and I don’t view them as people anymore. It is sad but I have to compartmentalize. I had a degree in art and couldn’t get a job that paid enough so I got a job with an engineering firm and they were the pioneers of expert witnessing. I work for expert witnesses and attorneys and I am the only person I know of who does this. I go the accident scenes and document every tree and house and recreate them. The videos aren’t perfect, but they are accurate. A woman was in a car accident and her face hit the dashboard. I took the CT scan and printed her damaged skill on the 3D printer. I have created videos to show the jury how the cardiovascular system works. Every day my job is different and I am always learning. I am a very careful driver and am paranoid about my children driving and what they do.”
