Doris:
My favorite days of the year are Mardi Gras Day and Joe Cain Day. I made these things I’m wearing. I love talking with people and making them laugh. They might not have smiled in a week–maybe I made their day. Nobody knows who I am, and I have a good time.
My motto is “I live life to love and love life to live.”
Beth:
We were next-door neighbors for 23 years. She’s the life of the party. We have fun.
Doris:
If there ain’t fun, we’ll make some.
I was born in Mobile, but grew up in Cape Canaveral, Florida. I loved to surf and waterski. I moved back here because my mom and daddy needed me. They’re both gone now.
I don’t have kids–my choice. I want to have fun. If I had kids, it all stops. They step on your toes, and later they step on your heart. Beth’s got a great kid.
I was in my forties and woke up legally blind. I have a rare eye disease. There’s no cure for it. I got shots in my eyeballs, and they stabilized it. It’s not as bad as it sounds. God helps me through. Losing my vision hasn’t stopped me from anything.
Beth:
Except driving. She doesn’t drive anymore.
Doris:
I had to quit after I ran into the back of the pickup truck I didn’t see.
If I could drive, I would’ve gone back to Florida.
Beth:
God works in mysterious ways. I’m glad she’s still here.
