“Between my husband and me we have ten kids. Two of them passed. One was murdered in St. Louis, and they never found the killer. Another son overdosed. It has been a rough road. Our youngest is five. I thought I was done and then she came. She brings a lot of joy. I was a hospital supervisor and wanted my own business, so I started Uniquely Yours Beauty Supply. I sell hair, beauty products, jewelry and purses. I don’t do hair, just sell it. Wigs, extensions, weaves and eyelashes. I wanted to do something different in Fairhope so my husband fixed up the old shed at our house and organized everything. It was a step out in faith to quit my job at the hospital and do this, but God didn’t fail me. Trust Him and He will supply you with what you need. I opened it in 2015, and it is freedom to have my own business and make my own hours.
A few years ago, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and the doctor gave her 20 months to live. My family is very spiritual and right there I told her that she should live and not die. All of my mom’s siblings are bishops, pastors and apostles. They came here from Chicago and Arkansas and surprised her and laid hands on her and prayed for her. The next time she went back for more scans and tests, the doctor came in and said they don’t know what happened but the stage four cancer is gone. I said. ‘Baby, I know what happened, God is still a healer and a miracle worker and He healed my mom.’ My mom had her last radiation today.
I get up early every morning to pray and meditate and get my daily direction. I am an ordained minister at Higher Power Church Ministries and have been a Sunday school teacher since I was 18. I am involved in street ministry and we go out into the streets to help kids and talk with them about stopping the violence and the killing. We go to some of the worst areas and you can’t be scared. Once they get to know us, they protect us and tell people about us. Ministry is getting out of the four walls. Most people don’t read the Bible, they read you. If we don’t try to get out and help, who will? This is the only way to reach the next generation. If God is telling you to do something, He is going to protect you and equip you to do it. There is a gift in each one of us but you have to trust Him to use it.
I see us breaking down barriers and coming together in Mobile and Fairhope. God doesn’t see any difference in us, black or white, he is coming back for all of us. We are all one church.”

What a blessing this story was to my heart and soul.
Great Job Pam! and so true
