There is a point to telling paranormal stories. I want to find where the storytellers where coming from

“I just wrote a book about old folk tale stories and ghost stories in the area. There is a point to telling paranormal stories. They all have meaning that is more than I went to this house and felt weird. The book I wrote takes the stories back to find where the storytellers were coming from and what they wanted to get across. My great grandmother told southernisms, stories and superstitions and I believe them. She would be cleaning the house and say, ‘I can’t sweep under your feet or you will never get married.’ It stuck with my mom but I never got to meet my great grandmother and learn it from her. My mom looked up to her grandmother so much and the stories are a connection to her. We keep trying to progress and find things that are new and different, but there is so much cool stuff that has already happened. I am working on a collective of stories and poems called A Southern Collective. If someone was passionate about it when they wrote it, then it is in. If the writer felt something writing it, then the reader will feel something reading it. I just want to make sure were are listening and people are being heard. I want to make a difference doing what I am passionate about and making people feel good makes me feel good. I learned from my mom to follow my gut even if it makes no sense to my head. My sister says I have no street smarts or common sense, but I do what I feel like doing. It it all works out, but if doesn’t, what have I really lost? I have an incredible support system and always felt like I could jump. I want to help provide that support system for others. Many people have come into the Serpents of Bienville gallery and told us stories. We want to preserve the history. The things that were bad don’t need to happen again and the things that were good need to be emphasized and remembered.”
