“They are box face labs. The kids painted him at a face-painting booth last week. They are Loutre Boys. This is Loutre 2 and 3. Loutre 4 and 5 are at home. They are named after the Loutre Bayou next to us. Loutre 1 was on the Ol’ Roy dog food bag. We won an essay contest for Ol’ Roy and told them he was a Christian dog. They kneel and we pray with them. ‘Dear Jesus I pray for my food and family. Amen.’ One had arthritis in his hips when he was 10 months old. It would have cost $20,000 to fix it. My husband needed both needs replaced. It was the dog or him. My husband got his knees replaced. He trains bird dogs and we dropped two off at Evergreen and stopped here. I have six grandchildren and we call them the termites. My dad started that calling his grandkids termites because they ate him out of house and home.”
