This is Happy Hour, where you can check out a dog from the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter

“This is Happy Hour, where you can check out a dog from the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter. We’re walking Caymen. She hasn’t left her cage in a month and is happy to be outside. There are so many dogs in the shelter–it was hard picking just one. Next time, more friends will do this so we can walk more dogs. We’re nursing and pre-med majors; walking a dog outside is therapy for us, too. We met five months ago in our sorority and bonded in chemistry class.”

Campbell: “I love kids and want to work in pediatrics or NICU. I was in the NICU because I am a triplet. I’m the only one of my siblings going to the University of Alabama. This is my first time to be without them and do my own thing. People here don’t know me as a triplet.”

Elise: “I looked at other careers but can’t imagine doing anything else but nursing. This feels like a career created for me. It’s hard, but it’s worth it.”

Lane: “I’m a public health major. I want a combination of community health and law. I’m from Mobile, so I took my friends home for their first Mardi Gras. We have so much fun together.”
