We have survived life together

August 18, 2018

“We are getting our vitamin D. We live here part of the time. This is our happy place and where we take a break from taking care of everyone else.”

“His  and my grandfather are the same man. I have been his cousin all of my life. Fishing brought us back together. I retired and then we started fishing together. We have caught a lot of fish.”

“We have been married 18 glorious years. My daughter introduced us. Commitment, laughter and loving the Lord is the secret. The rest is history.”

“We have been married 43  years. She can make me laugh uncontrollably.”

“I had cryptococcal meningitis. It is caused by bird droppings and gets in your brain and spine. I have a graphic arts business and parked close to where pigeons roost and it got into my system. It is rare for healthy people to get it and it took the doctors years to figure it out. That was a rough time.”

“Seven years ago, our granddaughter was born with a rare defect and born with no ears. We didn’t think she could hear at all but she had developing structures in her inner ear. She wore a hearing aid on her headband and we have been there all along for her and her five surgeries where they built ears for her. She now has perfectly formed ears. She is going into second grade, taking swimming lessons and doing great. She is so happy to look like everyone else and to be normal. The surgeries were long and stressful and she is the bravest person I know. Every child is not born perfect and every situation is not perfect and God gives us the strength to get us through and the purpose to help. He was also going through heart issues and in and out of the hospital at the same time.”

“My wife saved my life. I had a heart attack 13 years ago and she got me to the hospital. I came close again this year. She got me to the hospital and the help I needed. She brought me to God, too.”

“We have survived life together, the good and the bad, that is why we are here happy and enjoying this day. This is and God is all we need.”
