We ride trains for freedom

November 19, 2018

“We have been riding trains for six years. We do it for the freedom.”

“I ran away from foster care in Asheville when I was a kid and started traveling.”
“I had a good upbringing but was miserable working, failed in college, and just wanted to travel.
Life was boring waking up at the same time and talking to the same people that I hated every day. I started doing this almost a year ago. One day I will settle down and have a little farm.”
“I can’t stand staying being in the same place. The travel becomes addicting.”
“We have been in New Orleans and are on our way to Florida, and Savannah. New Orleans is the mecca of the south for train kids.”
“We got the dogs for constant companionship. People come and go, but the dogs are always here.”
“The dogs are Pearl from Joplin, Missouri, Little Bit from Cincinnati, and Big from Mineral, Virginia.”
“Big keeps me warm. I got her three weeks ago at the pound.”
“We eat people’s leftovers and sometimes from garbage cans.”
“I am going this for another ten years and then I want to drive a truck.”
“I will ride trains until there is a reason not to.”
