I was in real estate development in New Jersey. I started with houses and moved to bigger stuff with industrial building. When the economy tanked in 2008, so did my business. I lost $3 million over the next six years and retired in a more modest way than I expected. I should have retired a few years before, but I thought I would make another million. I lost most of my money, but I am much happier here than in New Jersey. I ride my bike and stay healthy and I help other people. My neighbor is 82 and he recently broke his ankle, so I help take care of his ten acres, his bull and horses. I take him meals and built shallow steps on his house. I am helping him get back on his feet.
