“I have been working at this gas station for almost two years. I was married before this and stayed home, but now I am separated. He left me. We had been together for 34 years. It is hard. I had to start over from scratch. After he left me, I was homeless and lived on the streets of Mobile for nine months. I came back here and the owner here, I love him. He is awesome. He gave me this job and helped me get through this. I have a place to live and I am getting back on my feet. I am working on getting a car. I am getting confidence in myself and I am better off. I am doing great and proud of myself for surviving. Living on the streets it was hard not to give up, but I knew something was going to happen and knew God had put me there for a reason. I saw what other people go through. Never give up, don’t look back, keep on going. My life is getting better each day.”
