“I won’t tell you my age, but I am old and exercise is very important for muscles, joints bones and balance. As you get older, all of those things wear out. Someone created a program for me that gets me moving and I exercise five days a week. I can tell a difference when I don’t do it for a week and I am stiff. Because I am exercising, everything seems the same as it always has. I want to remain independent and mobile for as long as I can. Walking is my quiet time. I am slow, but it is a good time to be with God. I am Catholic and pray the rosary as I walk. The rosary is a tool that reviews all of the main events and mysteries of the gospels from the annunciation to the agony and the glory. I think about these as I pray, but it is never the same. I get different thoughts and insights every time and it becomes part of my life. I feel it is God sending me inspiration. As I am praying and walking, people pass by and say hello and I think that we are all God’s children greeting each other. It is lovely.”
Good enough isn’t an option. It’s got to be the best I can do.
