Get some alone time to just breathe and be grateful

April 28, 2019

“I am spending time with the Lord. Life is busy and sometimes I drive across the bay from Mobile to make myself stop and be quiet. Many times I don’t ask for anything, but just tell Him thank you. I was adopted by a beautiful family. After my adopted dad died and I was grown and went into the world. I got on crack cocaine real bad. That is a rough thing. One night I prayed, ‘Lord I don’t have any help. If you don’t help me, no one can.’ Overnight I lost a 26-year drug addiction and he pulled me into the ministry. I have been preaching for 15 years and I am the youth pastor at our church. I work with the recreation department for the city of Mobile. I am surrounded by kids all day and try to help them. My son has been locked up in prison for ten years. They say he shot someone in Florida. He was 17 when he went in. It is out of my control and I have to depend on the Lord to get us through this. I try to help other kids not go down the same path. There is always someone who has it worse than you, so be thankful for what you do have. Get some alone time just to breathe and be grateful. Running and ripping for everyone else drains you real bad. Today a bird sat on the table in front of me. I heard the Lord speak to my spirit and say ‘If I feed the birds and the fowl of the air, am I not more concerned about taking care of you?’ That was for me right there. I am good. If the Lord takes care of the birds, he will take care of me.”
