“My ballet teacher got me involved in the Distinguished Young Women program. I have taken dance since I was two and I do stand in ballet poses all of the time even when I am still. I am from Alabaster and won the Shelby County and Alabama titles last year and it is allowing me to go to Auburn and graduate debt free. DYW grooms you to handle life and I have learned how to communicate clearly with people who don’t think like I do. Some of my best friends have come from DYW. We are here as “Has Beens” this year. There is no pressure and is just fun to relive it, but I miss being on that stage. I am a double major on a journalism and pre-law track. I would like to work in political analysis on news network. I have special needs sister, Caroline, who inspires me.
I like snakes, and alligators but not roaches. When I was in 5th grade, we went to Gatorland and my parents paid for me to hold a 50-pound python and I did it. That is where the love of snakes began. That was a good moment for me.”
