“I want to support marginalized communities that are suffering from discrimination and hatred by groups who think they are in some way superior to other human beings. I am against racism. I am a member of One Flag for All Mississippians. We are trying at amend the constitution so there is no reference to the Confederacy on the flag. It was about white suppression of a racial group. I am just a human being and don’t appreciate the way some other human beings are treated. I am a white male and about as privileged as you can get without being rich. I have benefitted throughout my life from that, but I am poor and have been discriminated against because I was poor. I may not be able to fully understand what others go through, I have had a small taste of it and it is rather bitter.”
Good enough isn’t an option. It’s got to be the best I can do.
