I have been the director of this daycare center for 40 years. I can’t retire and break away from the children

“I have been the director of this daycare center for 40 years. We have had the children, the grandchildren and the great grand children of this community. I may be at the great great ones now. I am 71 and still love this. It is a part of me and I know I am making a difference. Watching the children grow and learn motivates me and the schools know they get a good start here. I never thought I would do it this long, but when I think about retiring it is too hard to break away from the children. We have staff that has been here almost as long as I have. My family and I went skiing this year in South Carolina. It was my second time to ski, I went skiing for the first time 14 years ago before my husband passsed. I direct the youth and adult choirs at my church and sing is a choir that was formed by the Reverend James Cleveland and the Gospel Music Workshop. We travel from state to state. I love singing.”
