“I have been the director of this daycare center for 40 years. We have had the children, the grandchildren and the great grand children of this community. I may be at the great great ones now. I am 71 and still love this. It is a part of me and I know I am making a difference. Watching the children grow and learn motivates me and the schools know they get a good start here. I never thought I would do it this long, but when I think about retiring it is too hard to break away from the children. We have staff that has been here almost as long as I have. My family and I went skiing this year in South Carolina. It was my second time to ski, I went skiing for the first time 14 years ago before my husband passsed. I direct the youth and adult choirs at my church and sing is a choir that was formed by the Reverend James Cleveland and the Gospel Music Workshop. We travel from state to state. I love singing.”
