“We have to change. Cuba is 50 years behind. So many buildings are broken. The government says, ‘If you have money then you can fix it.’ Another problem we have is we are the only country in the world with two monies. That is crazy. I want to see the U.S. and travel around the world, but I only make $10 a month and have to pay light and phone, plus take care of my children and help my father. We have education, healthcare, and security. We are the safest place in the world, but you have to go beyond that. We can speak out more now. Maybe things will change here for my son. Enjoy my country, but don’t try to understand it.”
