I paint people but put walls behind them. The wall is the limit

April 3, 2016

“Since I was a kid, I liked to draw and paint. I studied art in my hometown, Colon, and came to Havana to draw and paint. Someone told me art is an exposition. I paint people but put walls behind them. The wall is the limit. Everyone has limits. Social limits. Psychological limits. There are things that you can’t do. I feel good when I paint. I put myself and what I think on canvass. I am not a great artist. Nobody knows me. I don’t live by painting. I am a computer teacher and I have to work. I am happy painting. It is my world. I listen to music and paint and forget about the rest of the world.”

Beautiful. Simple. Real. Life. Lesson. Listen.
