“It is harder to ride a bike through Bankhead Tunnel than you think.”
“That hill is longer and steeper than you realize in you car. It is a cool experience and makes you feel connected to something. When I was a kid there were men who worked in the tunnel and walked around in there. When you are on your bike you have time to think about the people who built it and worked on it. We take it for granted.”
“I am not originally from here. I started researching the history of tunnel and looking at the pictures when it was a toll tunnel with boots on the outside. There were 50 Chevy’s lined up to go through. We have progressed and hopefully we will have a new bridge sometime soon. We try to bike regularly and are glad the Mobile is becoming a more bike friendly city. I moved here from Austin. Now we have the start of a bike lane in the tech quarter. I graduated culinary school and I was opening team for the Battle House and I met my lovely wife.”
“He knew he would never leave.”
“I am about to start my own restaurant, Nourish Cafe, in the YMCA so I am getting downtown and active. It will open September and we will be doing healthy things and promoting healthy lifestyles. I would like to teach people about healthy choices.”
“I have lived here my whole life. I am a lawyer. I just won the Nappie Award for the second year for “Best Lawyer if Spouse is a Ho.”
