Making videos helps keep us connected

November 17, 2018

“We have a YouTube channel that we are trying to get together. Every week we have challenges for each other. We grew up in Bay Minette and live in different places now, so it is three different shots and perspectives in one video. It also helps keep us connected.”

“Today’s theme is how to balance school, social life, work, and find what you are passionate about. All of us are passionate about making videos. Last week’s challenge was shooting B-roll of coffee.
“I am majoring in film at the University of South Alabama, but my faith is very important to me and I want to work on a mission team and make documentaries about mission work. I am still figuring out my eye, style, and voice.  I started making films in 8th grade with an old white Mac. Film brought us together.”
“We walked around with the laptop in our hands recording anything we could.”
“We also became friends through soccer and church. He got good too quick. The rest of us were JV for life.”
“I am in nursing school. I want to be a traveling nurse, get my master’s degree, and pay off my student loans. After everything is stable, I want to go to Columbia and be a nurse with a family of missionaries in a deaf community. I want to make a documentary of that.”
“I am a greenskeeper at the Grand Hotel. I want to go back to school while working there and become a traveling nurse, too. I want to serve people and please God.”
“We want to be a good representative of Bay Minette.”
