“We grew up with our mother cooking and selling food on the corner most Saturdays. We are doing it today because we have a church fund raiser coming up. We are raising money for the church for the 42nd anniversary. We all do the cooking. We use mama’s recipes, including one for this sweet potato pie.
“We are all brothers and sisters, eight girls and five boys. We live between here and Foley. Mama passed eight years ago. She would love to see us do this.”
“Mama taught us to work hard and to love people and treat them the way we want to be treated. Taught us to care for family.”
“Do any of you have 13 kids?”
“Oh no. I used to want a big family because of the way we were raised, but then I had my two and that was enough. I have taken care of other people’s kids, so I have had 13, just not my own at one time. Be careful what you pray for.”

She raised you right. She would be so proud!
